Pacific Cross Vietnam is pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Robert D. Wyld as Chief Executive Officer in April 2022. The appointment comes as the company enters an exciting phase of post-covid growth, providing health and travel insurance administration services to a wide range of new partners across the country.

Rob is an experienced business leader having spent nearly 20 years in the insurance industry in Asia. Coming from a sales background in the UK, with more that 20 years already under his belt, Rob transitioned to Vietnam for the first time in 2003 with Prudential. Following a period as Chief Agency Officer for Prudential Vietnam, in 2005 Rob transitioned to Manulife Financial where he took a position as Head of Regional Agency Development & Training for Asia, working out of their Manulife’s Hong Kong office. Over the next decade plus, Rob held various positions with Manulife around Southeast Asia, culminating in a 6 year stint as CEO of Manulife Chinabank joint venture in The Philippines.

Rob joins Pacific Cross Vietnam at a key time in the company’s development. As operations transition away from two long term legacy partners, the firm is focused on new relationships with no less than half a dozen new insurance partners. Pacific Cross Vietnam continues to add to its suite of products and services, adding Emergency Assistance and Telemedicine facilities in 2022. Rob will oversee the growth of all areas of the business and looks to position PCV for long term success as a TPA while the Vietnam insurance industry continues its expansion and modernization.

Rob will succeed Gary Dawson, who after an 18 year period of sterling leadership having overseen tremendous growth and achievements for the company, is headed for a well deserved retirement in the company of his family and loved ones. To ensure a smooth transition a handover period will take place with Mr. Dawson being retained in a consultancy role.

Please join all employees and stakeholders of Pacific Cross Vietnam wish Gary every happiness in retirement and give a hearty welcome to Robert Wyld, wishing him the utmost success.
